New root CA for Mina Meddelanden infrastructure

» Published on Tue, 22 Sep 2020 17:29:00 +0000

  • In Progress

Since June the new root CA for the Mina Meddelanden infrastructure is ExpiTrust EID CA v4. This replaces the old root CA Steria AB EID CA v2.

This means that Kivra as a service provider needs to trust ExpiTrust EID CA v4 in order to receive messages from senders with a renewed signing certificate.

It also means that senders need to trust ExpiTrust EID CA v4 as service providers like Kivra renew their TLS-certificates.

Today (September 22) at noon, Kivra replaced their TLS-certificate with a new one signed by ExpiTrust EID CA v4. We have heard from a couple of senders that this has caused issues.

This message is here to help other senders that may experience the same issue. The solution for this is simple: add ExpiTrust EID CA v4 to your trust store / key store.
